In March, the unemployment rate fell by 0.2 percentage points compared to the previous month, when it was 5.7%, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics. The unemployment rate for men was 0.5 percentage points higher than for women.
The estimated number of unemployed (aged 15-74) for March 2021 was 464,000 people, down from the previous month, when there were 478,000 people. The unemployment rate for men (5.7%) exceeded that of women by 0.5 percentage points (the respective values being 5.7% in the case of males and 5.2% in the case of females) . For adults (25-74 years), the unemployment rate was estimated at 4.4% for March 2021 (4.6% for men and 4.2% for women). The number of unemployed aged 25-74 represents 75.1% of the total number of unemployed estimated for March 2021.
