In the first seven months of the year, 29342 building permits for residential buildings were issued, up 33.4% on the corresponding period of the previous year, data published today by the National Institute of Statistics show. In July 2021, 4891 building permits for residential buildings were issued, down 0.2% compared to June 2021 and up 18.9% compared to July 2020.
Between 1 January and 31 July, 29,342 building permits for residential buildings were issued, up by 33.4% compared to the period 1.1 – 31.VII.2020. Increases were recorded in all development regions: Bucharest-Ilfov (+1469 permits), South-Muntenia (+1436), North-East (+967), North-West (+926), West (+801), South-East (+657), Centre (+605) and South-West Oltenia (+489).
In July 2021, 4891 building permits were issued for residential buildings (-0.2% compared to the previous month), with a total usable area of 1137344 sqm (+4.4%). Of the total number of building permits for residential buildings 69.6% are for rural areas. Even though the number of permits issued decreased compared to the previous month, in July 2021 there was an increase in the usable area of building permits issued for non-residential buildings (+11.1%).
