Dacia presented today at the IAA Munich the new Jogger, a model announced since June. The new seven-seater will be a crossover that replaces both the Logan MCV station wagon and Lodgy MPV in the range.

“Jogger is a simple, modern name that anyone can pronounce and is universally understandable. It stands for dynamism, positive energy and outdoor spirit. The suffix ‘er’ like Duster, Dacia’s flagship SUV model, evokes the ruggedness and endurance of an ideal everyday companion for Dacia families,” say Dacia officials.

Attending the premiere, Dacia CEO Denis le Vot said the car is cool, modern, robust and will influence the market. The Jogger takes all the qualities of the SUV and estate in one special car. Dacia’s new model will sell for less than €15,000.

The new Jogger has an on-board multimedia system and the seats have 64 ways to use them. The length is 4.55 metres, making it the longest Dacia ever built. In order to reach the size, the wheelbase has been increased to 2.89 metres, which is typical of mid-class cars. This gives the bodywork new proportions for Dacia, with short overhangs and enough space for the seven seats it offers.

The second engine offered is the ECO-G 100, a dual petrol-LPG engine, already known from other models and offering, first of all, a long range, important in a family car. It has a power output of 100 hp, can be fuelled by petrol and LPG and switches between the two fuels on the move with the push of a button. The tanks hold a total of 90 litres of fuel (the LPG tank is in place of the spare), which brings the car’s range close to 1,000 km. Petrol consumption is 7.6 litres/100 km, while LPG consumption is higher, but the fuel cost is lower.

Finally, from early 2023 the Jogger will also have a hybrid engine.

“We’re reinventing the 7-seater for any terrain, with a focus on people spending time together. The Dacia Jogger will be competitive in the C-class car market. The car sits at the crossroads of SUV, family car and estate, but it’s unique,” says Denis le Vot.

The new Jogger will be available to order from November 2021 in around 30 countries mostly in Europe, but also in Turkey and Israel. The car will arrive in dealerships from February 2022.
