The Ministry of Finance is issuing three new government securities as part of the Tezaur Programme, at interest rates of 3.50%, 4% and 4.40%.
“The Ministry of Finance is issuing, as of 4 October 2021, three new issues of government securities under the Tezaur Program, with maturities of 1, 3 and 5 years and interest rates of 3.50%, 4% and 4.40%. The government bonds have a nominal value of 1 leu and are in dematerialized form,” the Ministry of Finance announces.
The government bonds can be purchased between 04 – 27 October 2021 from the State Treasury units and between 04 – 26 October 2021 for urban areas and 04 – 25 October 2021 for rural areas, through the Romanian National Post Company.
The interest is annual, payable on the terms set out in the issue prospectus. Also, government securities issued under the Treasury Program are transferable and can be redeemed in advance.
An investor may make one or more subscriptions within an issue. Investors may cancel subscriptions already made only during the subscription period by submitting a request.
Individuals who have reached the age of 18 at the time of subscription are eligible. Income from investing in the savings offer launched by the Ministry of Finance is not taxable.
The funds obtained by the Ministry of Finance as an issuer as a result of the issue of government securities will be used to finance the budget deficit and refinance the public debt.
The issue prospectus and any amendments thereto will be published on the website of the Ministry of Finance and the Romanian Post Office.
