This year, 12 programs could be launched to support SMEs and tourism companies, says Constantin-Daniel Cadariu, Minister of Entrepreneurship and Tourism, quoted by News.ro.
“I propose to launch 12 programs this year to support SMEs and tourism companies,” said Constantin-Daniel Cadariu, Minister of Entrepreneurship and Tourism, at a working meeting held on Friday 7 January in Brasov, attended by members of the Romanian Parliament, representatives of local authorities and of the tourism business community.
“I would like to strengthen the social dialogue with all the participants in these meetings in order to design programs and projects that will lead to the development of attractive tourist destinations and a long-term, functional, competitive business environment from all points of view. Thus, I would like this year, in addition to the payment of all outstanding measures, to put on the table 12 programs with well-defined target groups and whose results are primarily aimed at sustainability. From programs such as StartUp Nation for young people to invest in the ski area, we are at that point in the social dialogue where we need to clearly define the public policies that will underpin the creation of new national or European funding lines. Tourism is a strategic area and this must be reflected in the budget allocations that this ministry will manage”, said Constantin-Daniel Cadariu.
The topics discussed focused on the positioning of Brasov County as a development pole for Romanian tourism, being the second tourist destination in Romania after Constanta. The problems identified were the lack of a coherent legislative framework for both business incubators and destination management organizations.
At the same time, the need to include eligible types of activities for the digialtization of SMEs in tourism and HoReCa, plus the development of tourism infrastructure in the programs managed by all regional development agencies was an intensely debated topic.
One topic that generated interest for the business community in Brasov was the financing of the entire ski area, not just the slopes infrastructure.
