The National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE) sanctioned the company Distributie Energie Electrica România for non-compliance with the legal provisions regarding the connection of “prosumers” (producers and consumers at the same time) to the electricity networks, the institution announced today.
ANRE completed a control activity carried out at Electrica (in the area of competence of the former Electricity Distribution Company Transilvania Nord) in which compliance with the legal provisions on connecting “prosumers” to electricity networks was verified. “Prosumers” is a term that refers to those who are both producers and consumers of energy from renewable sources.
Following the checks carried out, it was found that the distribution operator had incorrectly established connection solutions, thus generating additional costs for prosumers. Electrica also provided prosumers, through the website, with incomplete information on the documentation required for connection to the electricity grid and incorrectly completed the content of the Technical Connection Notices (ATR) and the Connection Certificates (CR).
The company was sanctioned with a misdemeanor fine amounting to 155,000 lei, at the same time ordering measures and compliance deadlines in order to remedy the noted non-compliant situations.
