The Ministry of Transport requests a budget amendment of additional 2.9 billion lei for railways, roads and investments in subordinate companies

The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure requested an additional 2.9 billion lei for the budget amendment, according to a response of the institution to the request of G4Media.ro.

The amounts represent increases compared to the initial allocation from the 2021 budget in four chapters:

– Railway infrastructure maintenance

– Road infrastructure maintenance

– Capital investments in subordinated companies for efficiency and recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic

– Payment obligations

The Ministry of Transport has a budget execution of 93% on the funds for the first semester of this year, according to the quoted answer. In terms of investments from European funds, the ministry recorded an increase of 35% compared to the first half of 2020 and 285% compared to the same period in 2018.

The budget allocation for 2021 for Transport was 14.1 billion lei, almost 10% higher than the budget execution in the previous year.
