The Bucharest Stock Exchange lost 3.65 billion lei in capitalization in one week

The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) lost 3.65 billion lei in capitalization this past week, or 1.79%, and the value of share transactions fell by almost 52.96% compared to the previous week, Agerpres reports.

According to data published by the BVB, the market capitalization reached 199.990 billion lei in the period 16-20 August 2021, from 203.642 billion lei recorded in the week 9-13 August 2021.

Share transactions generated a turnover of 112.339 million lei this week, down from 238.846 million lei in the previous period.

The best day of trading on the BVB was Tuesday, August 17, with a turnover of 24.610 million lei, and the worst day was Monday, August 16, with a trading value of 19.722 million lei.

The main index of the Bucharest Stock Exchange – BET closed the week at 12,085.60 points.

The shares of Banca Transilvania were the most liquid securities on the main segment of the Bucharest Stock Exchange this week as well, generating transactions of 31.581 million lei and a price decrease of 0.33%.

At the top of the trading list are the shares of the Proprietatea Fund, with trades of 12.735 million lei (2.23%), followed by Teraplast shares, with trades of 8.576 million lei and a price drop of 3.11%.

The most significant increases in share prices were recorded by Condmag (+17.65%), Electroaparataj (+14.81%) and Retrasib (+12.50%).

At the other end of the spectrum, significant falls were recorded by Electrica shares, down 7%, followed by Rompetrol Rafinare (-6%) and Prebet (-5.88%).
