The number of deregistered firms nationwide increased by 34.14% in the first seven months of 2021, compared to the same period last year, to 37,667 deregistrations, according to statistics from the National Trade Registry Office (ONRC), cited by Agerpres.
The most deregistrations were recorded in Bucharest municipality – 6,048 (up 39.71% compared to January-July 2020) and Timiș county – 1,781 (up 51.70%), Cluj – 1,636 (up 24.70%) and Constanța – 1,603 (up 31.29%).
At the other end of the scale, the fewest cancellations were recorded in Ialomița county – 289 (up 55.38% on the first seven months of last year), Călărași – 321 (up 44.59%) and Teleorman – 334 (up 20.14%).
The most significant increases in the number of cancellations were recorded in Alba (up 69.66%), Covasna (up 60.49%) and Olt (up 57.14%) counties. No decrease in the number of deregistered firms was recorded during the period under review.
By sector of activity, the highest number of deregistrations was recorded in wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles – 10,307 (up 36.57% compared to January-July 2020), construction – 3,491 (up 32.69%), professional, scientific and technical activities – 3,166 (up 35.18%) and agriculture, forestry and fishing – 3,090 (up 55.12%).
In July 2021, there were 5,102 firm cancellations, most of them in Bucharest (895) and in Timiș (240), Cluj (226) and Constanța (215) counties.
